Management and Leadership information
A successful business requires good management and leadership. A good manager will use clear processes and rational methods to maximise the output of the organization; good leaders will use passion and emotion to inspire the workforce.
Leadership is just one of the skills a successful manager must possess.
Research and employer consultation undertaken by Proskills identified a need for enhanced Leadership and Management solutions to support industry.
We have been able to identify four programmes that match our employers’ needs:
- Inspirational Leadership Programme – developing the skills of the manager is the key to unlocking the skills of the workforce. This programme focuses on medium to long-term strategic challenges, including changing programmes, hiring and retaining high-quality staff and business growth.
- First Level Management – this programme provides practical help to second level managers and above and focuses on managing self and personal skills, providing direction, facilitating change, working with people, using resources optimally.
- Working with People – this provides practical solutions to managers who need to manage and work with others effectively. Issues addressed include, planning the workforce, effective recruitment and staff retention, addressing performance problems and management, resolving conflict, leading effective management and nurturing good and productive relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Action Learning – learn form your peers and exchange best practice on how to tackle real problems on any business-related issue in real-time in a workshop environment. This may be on a one-to-one or one-to-many basis.
A delivery solution will be devised that works around the operational needs of your business and there is contributory funding of up to £1500 business available to eligible businesses (small to medium-sized business employing < 250 people) to support the costs of this invaluable training.
